Qualification Requirements

• Associate degree in early education or Bachelor in K-8
• Ability to obtain ACSI certification within one year of hire

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's teaching degree or higher (K-8/K-5/Early Childhood Ed, or subject specific)
• Teaching certificate
• ACSI Certified

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom instruction and build student and parent relationships from a Christian perspective
• Ensure academic progress in every student using various modes of instruction
• Build partnership with parents through proactive communication
• Create an organized, predictable, and positive classroom environment
• Participate in professional development opportunities
• Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans to help students meet learning objectives
• Remain current and organized on daily classroom responsibilities: grading; record keeping; attendance; and lesson planning
• Maintain neat and pleasant classroom
• Adhere to biblical standards in all areas of conduct
• Positive support of LCS’s policies and practices
• Work collaboratively in a professional Christian school
• Able to use strong written and oral communication skills
• Flexible and adaptable in dealing with challenges
• Maintain confidentiality and security of information
• Hold yourself and others accountable
• Teachable - willing to receive constructive feedback
• Effective time management in organizing multiple tasks and activities
• Attend school events outside regular school hours including, but not limited to: parent/teacher conferences; arts performances; student socials; open houses; professional development sessions; and fundraising events

Physical Requirements

• Requires standing for long periods of time
• Able to make visual and auditory evaluation of student work and performance
