Description

Liberty Performance Health, a Third-Party Administrator of Self-Insured Health Plans, is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Underwriter/Account Manager. This hybrid position involves report writing, proposal creation, risk assessment for customers, and cross-over duties in Account Management. The ideal candidate will possess 1-3 years of underwriting experience along with some account management experience, preferably within a health insurance environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for customers, analyzing insurance applications, and evaluating potential risks.
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing risk analysis findings and underwriting recommendations.
• Develop tailored insurance proposals for clients, considering their specific needs and risk profiles.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure seamless delivery of services and support to clients.
• Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a friendly demeanor and effectively communicating with clients.
• Handle inquiries and concerns from clients regarding insurance policies, coverage options, and pricing.
• Deliver less-than-optimal news to customers when competitive pricing cannot be achieved, offering alternative solutions and options.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions, client interactions, and policy details.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions affecting the insurance landscape.
• Attending regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Insurance, or equivalent industry experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in underwriting, preferably within a health insurance setting.
• Some experience in account management or customer-facing roles.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
• A willingness to report to the office location several times a week for in-person meetings and collaboration.
