Recreation Specialist / Activities Coordinator

Due to continued organizational growth, Liberty Healthcare is hiring for multiple new full-time Recreation Specialist positions at the Robert M. Greer Center in Enid, OK.

The Robert M. Greer Center is a specialized intermediate care facility which provides short-term residential treatment to adults who have behavioral support needs and developmental disabilities.

As a Recreation Specialist, your day-to-day work will involve:

• Working directly with clients one-on-one and in groups

• Assessing individual client’s interests and hobbies

• Promoting client independence and pro-social behaviors

• Encouraging clients to engage in organized and self-directed activities

• Creating and leading activities (games, sports, creative arts, and the like)

• Organizing celebrations and special events

• Escorting clients on outings throughout the community

• Serving as a contributing member of an interdisciplinary treatment team

• Collaborating with other Recreation Specialists and Therapists as well as clinical and ancillary professionals

This position will require you to work a variable schedule which will include evenings and weekends.

As a full-time employee of Liberty in this role, you can expect:

• $47,670 per year (paid $22.92 per hour)

You are a good fit for this position if you bring a positive attitude to your daily work. Patience, flexibility, and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are essential qualities.

It would be helpful if you have supported people who have mental health or behavioral support needs or people who are living with developmental disabilities.

Priority consideration will be given to applicants who have knowledge of recreational, athletic, and other activities - and have relevant work experience in a nursing home, long term care facility, or healthcare / human service program.
