What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Fab Builder position at Liberty Safe?
We are looking for welders and grinders to join our Manufacturing team to be involved in the process of building our home and gun safes. We have an in-house welding certification program along with on-the-job and cross-training for this and several other positions. Come join a company with lots of opportunity to learn and grow!
Swing Shift hours are Monday-Thursday 3:30 pm to 2:00 am. Fridays are occasionally worked.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to weld and/or grind to help the line as needed
- Work as a team to produce safes
- Load/unload steel of the correct size based on needed parts
- Verify parts are dimensionally correct and meet quality standards
- Must be able and willing to run all machines if needed
- Meet daily production requirements as scheduled
- Perform operator PM’s on equipment
- Ensure high quality parts/grinds/welds
- Keep area clean and organized
- Follow company safety regulations
- Report scrap steel on a daily basis
- Willing to learn and move around as assigned by superiors
Qualifications:
- Must have experience welding
- Must have experience grinding
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs regularly
- Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or other related fields
- Familiarity with assembly tools and equipment
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Ability to work well in teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Good attendance habits

This is a full-time position, with benefits available within 30 days of hire.
Full-time work schedule Monday - Thursday, some Fridays
Day shift hours: 5:00am - 3:30pm
Swing shift hours: 3:30 pm - 2:00 am
