Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Reports to work at the required time and performs duties as assigned by the Access Control Supervisor or Lead Locksmith.
2. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the Access Control field.
3. Installs, services, and repairs various types of locks, keys, and core devices.
4. Cuts new or duplicates keys, stamps with identification, replaces and re-keys locks as necessary.
5. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
6. Ensures that all locks, keys, and cores are in adequate working condition.
7. Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all university keys and cores.
8. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
9. Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
10. Must be detail oriented.
11. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
12. Identifies and communicates problems or defects to the Access Control Supervisor and/or the Access Control Lead Tech.
13. Works under general supervision.
14. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
15. Reports to Supervisor or lead technician.
16. Must provide own hand tools to perform and complete trade related tasks.
17. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks.
18. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
High school diploma or GED. Certifications obtained while employed by Liberty University at the expense of the employer will be reimbursed back to the University upon voluntary termination (resignation) for the first 12 months after acquiring it. Must be detailed oriented, possess strong organizational skills and well-developed communications skills.
Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly lift 50 pounds. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
Salary : $29,700 - $37,500
