Accountabilities
The applicant for this position must be physically able to perform all duties and responsibilities relating to the operation of all pump stations and capable and willing to adjust to scheduled shifts (around the clock seven days a week) and scheduled shift changes.
The duties of the position include:
- Operating the S.C.A.D.A. System for the treatment Plants, starting and stopping of pumps, cleaning all stations and equipment, reading meters, changing charts, mixing chemicals, etc.
- Pump Station Operators are also trained to perform certain maintenance functions ( raising and lowering of pumps , reset of monitors, etc.) must be able to lift up to 25 LBS and be able to perform basic water quality tests.
Education and Experience
- The applicant must have a valid High School Diploma and driver’s license
- A New York State grade II-B water treatment plant operators’ license is required within one year
- Successful candidate will attend the next Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification Course.
- PSO’s must attend future training courses to maintain necessary credits for their license.
- License must be kept up to date.
