Responsibilities

  • Purchase standard and commercial parts andsubcontracting services to support their customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain reliable aerospace suppliers.
  • Global coordination of materials from OEM’s.
  • Operates MRP/ Baan/Lirom and series of Access database systems to input and retrieve data.
  • Interfaces with OEMS’, internal departments, domestic and international vendors and resolvesany supply chain issue using various communication modes.
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, anddelivery schedule.
  • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope ofauthority.
  • Maintain inventory level for over 10,000 parts.
  • Resolve material and cost issues.
  • Copies data and compiles records and reports. (Daily/Monthly)
  • Visits suppliers’ facilities to qualify them as new sources and assist in the resolution of production,design, quality, and/or delivery problems.
  • Able to work independently and resolve issues with minimal guidance.
  • May be required to drive company vehicle to supplier for pick up or delivery of parts.

Competencies

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) with 2-5 years of relevant position-related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as member of the supply chain team.
  • Ability to adapt work schedule to meet program and company goals.
  • Ability to schedule and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to interact with wide variety of people in calm, clear, non-threatening, collaborative manner.
  • Good communication skills including written, verbal, in person and by telephonereasoning and thinking skills and ability to problem solve.
  • Using excellent customer service, establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with peers, customers and members of management.
  • Ability to perform detail oriented work accurately.
  • Ability to work in potentially stressful situations.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze business and financial data.
  • Possesses strong logical, mathematical, database, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to utilize MS Office at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Ability to negotiate win-win scenarios with Suppliers.
