PURPOSE
Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice-President, the Bookstore Supervisor provides friendly customer service to students, faculty, and staff; maintains the general cleanliness of the bookstore and ensures that inventory is stocked.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sell store items.
- Operate cash register and make change.
- Collect and record cash and other receivables at the end of the day following Life West’s security protocols.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including but not limited to dusting and straightening shelves.
- Maintain inventory and keep store shelves stocked.
- Order inventory from approved Life West vendors once written approval is obtained from the Life
- West Associate Vice-President. Prepare the necessary purchase orders.
- Provide information to the Associate Vice-President to create monthly reports.
- Monitor online bookstore sales and fill orders.
- Supervise student workers and other part-time staff as directed by the Life West Associate Vice- President.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Ensure that displays and signage are in line with Life West’s standards as directed by the Life
- West Associate Vice-President.
- Review staffing schedule with the Life West Associate Vice-President.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
SKILLS; EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION; TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of general clerical/retail experience.
• Experience in running cash register, handling cash, and making change.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Must be reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literate. Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Familiarity with UPS, USPS, and FedEx shipping.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.
- Requires ability to communicate and exchange information; collect, compile, and prepare work documents; and set up and maintain work files.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work performed in a college bookstore/convenience store environment.
- Must be available for opening and/or closing shifts.
- Occasional Saturday mornings; no nights or Sundays.
