Position Summary:
As part of LCE's Systems Administrator/Cyber Security Internship, you will focus on Technology, Process Improvement, Leadership, and Presentation skills. The intern will assist the Lab Manager in our Charleston, SC office with daily tasks and be part of a team to help improve current business processes. - From the technology side, LCE's Internship Program provides qualified applicants the potential to learn about the following technologies:
- Virtualization (VMWare ESXi Server, VCenter, etc.)
- Operating Systems (Linux, Windows 2003/2008/2012)
- Database Technologies (MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres)
- Web development/management (Internet Information Server, Apache, Tomcat)
- Information Security (Industry Standards, DoD Standards, Security )
- Networking (Cisco, Endian)
- Development (Bash scripting, JavaScript, PHP, HTML5, etc.)
- Software Quality Assurance Testing (Regression, Performance, Smoke, Unit, etc.)
- Additionally, the Intern will have the opportunity to work with a team on learning leadership, presentation skills, and process improvement related to:
- Report generation system
- Training and education tracking system
- Lab automation
- Equipment inventory
- System integration and standardization
- Monitoring and alerting
- Must be enrolled in a STEM degree program in a SC educational institution.
- Experience in the following:
- Virtualization (VMWare ESXi Server, VCenter, etc.)
- Operating Systems (Linux, Windows 2003/2008)
- Database Technologies (MSSQL 2008, MySQL)
- Web development/management (Internet Information Server, Apache, Tomcat)
- Information Security (Industry Standards, DoD Standards, Security )

- Software Quality Assurance Testing (Regression, Performance, Smoke, Unit, etc.)
- Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
- Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
- Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
