Life Skills Autism Academy is a highly-specialized, center-based treatment program designed to provide the best developmental experience possible for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Our mission is to help children living with autism write their own success stories.

 

Job Purpose

The Clinical Director is responsible for the daily oversight of clinical operations for their assigned team of Supervising Clinicians (BCBA/BC). The BCBAs provide support to individuals and their families by coordinating and providing Applied Behavior Analysis, function analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. This position is considered a leadership role within Centria. The ideal candidate will be able to lead, direct, supervise, and implement clinical initiatives and programs. This role will also provide mentorship and professional development for their assigned team, assisting them in overcoming challenges and answering questions. Solid communication skills and openness to feedback are necessary. The Clinical Director should be organized and self-sufficient to perform in this role successfully.

Success measures include overall team performance and productivity, clinical outcomes, client retention, engagement, and retention of Supervising Clinicians and Behavior Technicians. Ensure that region hits caseload ramp-up goals as defined by the market budget.

Duties and Responsibilities  

1. Mentor and manage a team of Supervising Clinicians in the region


• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a team of BCBAs to provide the highest quality of ABA therapy through appropriate programming, client education, hour recommendations.
• Conduct weekly one on ones to review performance metrics and client files.
• Conduct quarterly fidelity assessments to drive quality and consistency throughout the organization.

2. Provide clinical oversight of clientele to drive compliance and retention to achieve optimal outcomes.


• Conduct monthly case reviews of your team members’ clients to ensure appropriate progress.
• Ensure clients and parents are engaged in and completely satisfied with the services provided to them.
• Retain 100% of your clients by driving progress and satisfaction through high-quality ABA. Resolve client and technician concerns in a timely manner utilizing the NPS tool and feedback. Quarterly NPS of 8 or higher with a 50% response rate.

3. Guide clients through the referral process into direct therapy to ensure families are well-educated and committed to ABA therapy before beginning services.

  • Conduct initial assessments such as VB-MAPP, ABLLS, or AFLS (or other) at intake and every six (6) months, after that.
  • Review initial and six (6) month assessments conducted by your direct report Supervising Clinicians to guarantee clinically accurate goals, programming, and hour recommendations.
  • Conduct monthly case reviews of your team members’ clients to ensure appropriate progress.
  • Ensure clients and parents are engaged in and completely satisfied with the services provided to them.
  • Encourage parents to participate in parent engagement (training) sessions at least one time a month.
  • Retain 100% of your clients by driving progress and satisfaction through high-quality ABA. Resolve client and technician concerns in a timely manner utilizing the NPS tool and feedback. Quarterly NPS of 8 or higher with a 50% response rate.Attend corporate meetings and training as scheduled.

4.  Guide clients through the referral process into direct therapy to ensure families are well-educated and committed to ABA thereapy before beginning services.


• Call family same-day referral is received.
• Explain ABA and ensure commitment from family.
• Assign IA to BCBA.
• Notify FSM of need for Behavior Technician.
• Enter tracking data into ABAA to be reflected in COMS.
• Follow up with the family throughout the process to keep engaged and updated on the timeline.
• Conduct deep dives on referrals and holds with AFSD.

. Attend corporate meetings and training as scheduled.
• Attend Clinical Summits to earn CEUs and hear company updates.
• Conduct monthly group BCBA training.

5.  Manage the local office space needs.

  • Ensure that office needs are communicated to the facilities department.

  • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance of the different programs, regulations, and certifications (i.e., Medicaid Autism Programs, State laws, TRICARE, and other medical insurance). 

7.  Promote the growth of Centria Healthcare and assist in the pursuit of business opportunities.

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and current referral sources.
  • Develop and maintain payor relationships in the region.
  • Perform Autism Outreach and marketing activities within the region to promote the Centria brand awareness.
  • Comply with all necessary payor requirements and develop quality initiatives that will improve referral source satisfaction as measured through the number of referrals and subjective survey methods.

This role is responsible for:

  • Leading and maintaining staff by orienting, and training team members;
  • Ensuring the daily functions of the team are completed by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; 
  • Managing, coaching, and developing a high performing team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements;
  • Consistently promoting high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and
  • BCBA Masters Level degree and
  • Current BCBA certificate through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

Work Experience

  • 2 years working with children and autism spectrum disorders
  • Previous supervision experience and/or Team Leader position
  • Crisis management experience, preferred

Equipment and Technology Experience

  • Laptop
  • G Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Google Meet)
  • ABA Platforms, preferred
  • iPad, preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • ABA clinical knowledge and experience;
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to synthesize a variety of clinical and social data to determine an appropriate diagnosis, treatment plan and monitor effectiveness of treatment programs;
  • Ability to effectively engage in one to one communication with parents and clients;
  • Expertise in tracking and ensuring clinical outcomes, progress, and maintaining a high level of compliance;
  • Ability to seamlessly transition between strategic and hands-on responsibilities;
  • Proven experience and understanding of customer service;
  • Works well in a collaborative environment and builds mutual trust and credibility at all levels of the organization;
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal with clients, internal and external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-motivated to achieve business goals;
  • Proven leadership and management skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Superior skills in time management, observation, and data analytics;
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.

Working Conditions

  • Centria’s office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm
  • Additional time or flex schedules may be required to complete the above work or meet company objectives.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be exposed to a client who exhibits physically aggressive behavior, which can include kicking, pinching, punching, biting, etc. The team member may have to use appropriate behavior management techniques with a client under such circumstances. Such a response requires agility, quick reflexes, and the ability to use physically evasive movement. The team member will be required to stand, walk, sit, grasp, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, hear, type, and write. The team member will also be exposed to normal office conditions and usual office equipment such as phone, computer, copiers, files, etc. The team member must be able to independently push, pull, lift, move, and carry objects weighing up to thirty-five (35) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near, far, and field of vision.
