POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Major Gifts is responsible for building and carrying a portfolio of 150 prospects and closing five, six, and seven figure gifts in support of LifeBridge Health and its affiliates, with a special emphasis on increasing support from grateful patients. The Director of Major Gifts reports to the Director of Major Gifts and Clinician Engagement for LifeBridge Health and has regular contact with members of the medical staff, the CEO of LifeBridge Health and the Presidents of Sinai Hospital and Grace Medical Center, Northwest Hospital, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, and Carroll Hospital, and the Executive Director of the Center for Hope (formerly Baltimore Child Abuse Center).
Essential Functions:
Major Gift Fundraising: With a strong metrics focus, this position moves prospects through the stages of the philanthropic process (moves management). Tasks: Builds and maintains a fluid pipeline of 150 major gift prospects. Solicits 25-30 gifts annually, closing five, six, and seven figure gifts. Makes 150-200 donor and prospect visits annually. Works in Raiser's Edge to capture prospect and donor information and activity. Requires the ability to be creative, innovative, flexible and resourceful in all aspects of prospect and donor engagement.

Clinician Engagement: Works with physicians and other clinicians to identify grateful patients and families, qualify them for capacity and interest, and move them into the major gift pipeline. Tasks: Facilitates long-term philanthropic relationships with grateful patients and families, including clinicians in the appropriate steps. Builds strong working relationships with clinicians. Service lines will include: The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics; The Cardiovascular Institute; The Cancer Institute; Medicine; Surgery; and Critical Care Services.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) preferred
