2-1 Shared Living Home Care Providers Needed!
Do you want to get paid for having an adult with a developmental disability live with you in YOUR house, condo or apartment?
We are currently looking for two adults that want to be a 2-1 Shared Living Home Care Provider!
Shared Living Home Care Provider Stipend:
Home Care Provider #1 ($67,890/Year)
Home Care Provider #2 ($54,750/Year)
Total: $122,640.00/Year
Day Program Staffing (Optional):
This individual is also funded for 2-1, Monday-Friday for his day program. The Home Care providers can also fill this role, or it can be contracted out.
DSP #1 - $18/Hr (30 Hrs/Wk - Mon-Fri 8:30-2:30)
DSP #2 - $18/Hr (30 Hrs/Wk - Mon-Fri 8:30-2:30)
CLIENT DESCRIPTION:
This individual is generally a happy and friendly male in his mid 30’s, who is independent in most ADLs, though he does require some assistance in the shower. He is working to be independent post BM as he currently requests help. He enjoys NASCAR, listening to music, visiting Guitar Center, playing music, dancing, walking at the park or rail trail, having long conversations. He likes talking to his Grandmother who lives near by, and enjoys going for a visit though he hasn’t been going as much as he’d like to. This individual has moderate intellectual disability (fetal alcohol syndrome and Global cerebral dysfunction). This individual has a peanut allergy, which requires an epi-pen. He had previously lived happily with his last provider for 8 years.
This individual is currently experiencing high anxiety from recent changes in his residence which has resulted in past behaviors arising. Individual has been frequenting local hospitals complaining of stomach pain or just becoming obsessive about returning to the hospital. He has recently resorted to walking in the road, approaching strangers to call the police or ambulance, ignoring prompts and redirects to return home or leave the road. The individual will refuse to comply until EMS arrives. Team members have had to restrain the individual to prevent injury to themselves by staying in the road. While restrained, the individual will attempt to strike or bite the staff holding them until they tire. Due to increased elopement issues and noncompliance as described, 2 staff to 1 individual ratio is being recommended and funded. The individual has PRN medications to help with anxiety but he may refuse to take it while escalated.
Must Have/Can’t Have:
This individual should not live with children in the home under the age of 18.
What’s involved?
As a Home Care Provider, you’ll be paid to provide a safe and comfortable home environment and support the individual with basic tasks such as meal preparation, medication administration and other basic daily living tasks.
Can I Still Have a Day Job?
YES! Most clients work out in the community with an outside agency for six hours per day, Monday through Friday.
What if I Need a Break?
Home Care Providers receive 35 days of respite per year, so you can go to the wedding… take a weekend off or go visit family.
Do I Get Training & Support?
LifeConnections provides extensive training and on-going support, including monthly home visits and the availability of agency staff to guide and assist providers with any issues that might arise.
Ideal Qualifications:
Experience with people with developmental disabilities desired. Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state of residence and own means of transportation required. Home and auto insurance is required. Must pass Criminal and Driving record checks, as well as BEA registry check.
What are the Hiring Requirements?
Completion of a Safe Home Inspection
High School Diploma or GED
Auto/Home/Renters Insurance
Valid NH driver's license & 18 years of age
Authorized to work in the United States
Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks.
