What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scientist position at LifeLink Foundation, Inc.?
The Scientist will be responsible for developing and evaluating biomaterials, tissue engineered constructs or
tissue. The Scientist will work within the R&D Department to develop new technologies and products, work
on process improvement projects and support the commercial organization with scientific data and studies.
The Scientist mentors other R&D team members in scientific and technical areas.
- Identify research questions related to development of tissue allografts and biomaterials; and work with senior level scientists to prioritize them. Ensure research questions are aligned with project goals.
- Design complex experiments or a series of experiments to answer research questions and work with other R&D team members to conduct them.
- Identify publications and critically evaluates them for their scientific integrity and relevance to R&D experiments.
- Establish complex assays. Work with outside laboratories to develop assays for R&D projects. Work with more other R&D team members to troubleshoot assays. Perform more complex assays.
- Prepare complex graphs and tables and perform statistical analysis.
- Work with Validation and Facilities on sophisticated equipment installation, calibration, and validation.
- Review raw data and calculations for other R&D team members. Present data for experiments and data trends for multiple experiments at team meetings. Initiate and maintain R&D Tissue Requests and update BTM.
- Identify and interpret relevance of literature in support of patents, publications, and white papers. Submit abstracts for scientific meetings. May be First Author for posters, podium presentations and peer reviewed scientific articles. May be a patent author.
- Design studies and work with other R&D team members to execute studies in support of process improvements, product quality and demonstrating compliance.
- Design studies and work with other R&D team members to execute studies in support of product performance.
- Mentor other R&D team members in scientific and technical areas when applicable.
