HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Student Services Technician creates and maintains files related to the management of special program student records, data input, reconciliation, correspondence and public contact. This Position will communicate with students and/or parents in appropriate areas of student records and all compliance issue to State and Federal educational mandates. The position will also work closely with the Student Services Department.

- Ensure all required special program student paperwork is complete and correct
- Accurately input student information into student information and other state databases
- Provide quality customer service.
- Assists with organizing of records, maintaining of special programs student folders, and other permanent records assigned and while protecting confidentiality of student records and information
- Comply with Department Enrollment Procedures, which provide the identification and placement
- Compile Compliance Reports - Cumulative data source to add, edit and monitor all special program students (all schools & sites)
- Assist teachers and staff with questions and clarification with special program compliance (PLS, CALPADS, student databases, State and Federal reporting)
- Perform routine checks and comparisons of reports or records for compliance with specific program requirements
- Prepare and process record requests from other schools and colleges for student records
- Prepare and complete mailing process of student records or correspondence
- Assist Program staff with clerical tasks (i.e. photocopy, print, fax, assemble information packets)
- Communicates effectively and timely with Student Services Department
- Keep abreast of federal and state education mandates to ensure the special program compliance program and services are kept to the satisfaction of the student, company and/or regulatory agencies compliance policies and procedures
- Attend meetings and trainings
- Prepare general, statistical and special reports
- Adhere to the company's employment, personnel, and fiscal policies and procedures
- Adhere to attendance policies
- Administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Able to meet schedules and timelines.
- Detailed oriented individual that is systematic in their approach to all assigned tasks
- Records management (filing, organizing)
- Organizational skills
MINIMUM QUALIFIATIONS:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
- Minimum of two years of related business duties
- Good oral and written communication proficiency
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
TRAVEL: Ability to travel in performance of duties.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Mental demands: Ability to process a large volume of paperwork and data
- Finger dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together
- Talking: Especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly and quickly
- Average hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
- Average visual abilities: Ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery
- Physical strength: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
- Noise level: Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures.
