How you will contribute to LifeNet Health’s success:
The General Manager, Spine leads a customer focused Business Unit and Franchise, consisting of medical and operational staff with significant subject matter expertise. Markets medical and scientific capabilities to clients, working as and in conjunction with business development teams and operations to develop new customers and build existing established relationships. Responsible for improving existing products, developing and implementing innovative professional marketing programs to ensure successful product launches and continued market share growth of the Company's existing products. Profit and Loss responsibility of the Franchise.
What you’ll do:
- Strategic: Utilizes key business models such as a SWOT, segmentation, product life cycle, and GAP analysis to aid in the development, implementation, and positioning of product lines. Accumulates, analyzes, and evaluates key data about the marketplace, including areas such as market size, growth movement, and competition, to help anticipate competitive movements and make recommendations for product positioning in the market place. Validates new product design, functionality and clinical applications with customers as well as developing marketing and sales plans. Develops and implements pricing and product offering strategies based on customer needs and processing feasibility. Ensures departmental compliance with all relevant regulatory standards.
- Leadership: Performs day-to-day management of the Franchise and provides oversight to assigned team by leading, guiding and directing employees to be effective team members. Ensures that everyone is equipped with the right skills, tools, and talents necessary for executing their duties using established people processes. Collaborates and provides ongoing product and service support to representatives of LifeNet and its partners. Works closely with R&D teams to support new product development and launch efforts.
- Financial: Develops and implements strategic and annual marketing plans to include short term, mid-term, and long term goals and objectives for the respective product family. This includes situational analysis of products, revenue forecasts, competitive analysis, and identification of key opportunities and threats. Evaluates the productmarketing plan to ensure compatibility with LifeNet mission. Develops and executes product launch strategies. Responsible for the franchise Profit and Loss.
- Relationships/Partnering: Develops and maintains relationships with "key opinion leaders" in the surgical community relative to the product family to aid in new product development and positioning of current product lines. Builds relationships with and works effectively with both direct and distributor sales teams.
- Education & Training: Utilizes key communication and promotional tools to establish awareness and feedback from the target audience and potential users. This may involve the utilization of external resources for the development of clinical education programs, sales collateral marketing materials, and other associated brand awareness activities. Conducts focus groups to advance the development of product concepts and definitions. Attends and directs activities associated with the coordination of tradeshow and professional society meetings pertaining to the respective product family.
What you’ll bring (Minimum Requirements):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related field; MBA or Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred
- Ten (10) years business experience in Medical Sales/Marketing and Product Management; majority should be with manufacturers of medical products ideally within the broadly defined market in which the Franchise is based; previous experience interacting with the surgical community and surgeons
- Five (5) years’ experience in the development and market introduction of new and transformational products
- Five (5) years’ experience in the industry pertaining to the Franchise
- Eight (8) years people leadership experience with direct reports

- Research/Problem Solving: Leads thorough analysis of situations with appropriate attention to detail and the big picture including consideration of impact at multiple levels of the system; ability to work in a creative manner to identify unique solutions
- Communication: Written, verbal and presentation; ability to engage, inspire and influence people
- Project Management: Able to provide oversight within large and complex projects to ensure quality, delivery, and high levels of client satisfaction
