Description
The Contracts & Procurement Specialist is responsible for drafting contracts, task orders, work requests or any other type of document that would be necessary to acquire goods and/or services from a supplier. They also ensure accuracy by preparing bidding documents before conducting bids.
This position also ensures that the materials and products meet all their specifications. They locate key suppliers and negotiate purchasing agreements with them to get higher quality goods at the lowest prices possible. This is a telework opportunity and may require some travel to the Liverpool or Utica office.
- Initiate and oversee the Request for Proposal (RFP) process
- Reviews cost proposals and pricing information
- Prepares and administers contracts and purchase orders with specific vendors
- Compares bids from vendors and determines, or assists with determination, to whom contracts will be awarded
- Evaluates vendor proposals to ensure that all requirements are met
- Confirms the term and delivery dates are accurate
- Evaluates competence of vendors and reviews their invoices for accuracy
- Maintains database regarding vendors’ performance and quality of product(s)
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field is required with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Contracts and/or Procurement
- Extensive knowledge of contract principles and procedures
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to set and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations
- Technical writing skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
