What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Resident position at LifePoint Health- Health Support Center?
LifePoint Health has an opportunity for an Administrative Resident to join our team at Clark Memorial Health in Jeffersonville, Indiana for a 1 year residency program.
The Administrative Residency Program provides a wide range of experiences throughout the hospital for a period of one year. The resident will complete a number of activities to build exposure to both hospital operations and leadership skills. Participants will receive:
- Direct supervision and mentoring from a tenured LifePoint CEO
- Hands on learning with practical application
- Coursework in leadership development
- Career planning guidance
The hospital’s leadership team will work with the resident to develop an individualized development plan that includes job sharing and rotations, projects, group and self paced learning and coaching to help ensure the resident’s awareness in strengths and opportunities for development.
The program consists of two major components to be completed sequentially:
- Rotation Phase- During this time, you will receive a comprehensive orientation to your hospital and LifePoint Health. The goal during this phase is for you to become familiar with the organizational Mission, Vision, and Values; organizational structure and initiatives; hospital service lines; and leadership goals and objectives. You will spend time with each service line in the hospital and, if necessary, travel to other LifePoint Health hospitals to gain additional exposure to service lines and leadership.
- Performance Phase- Under the guidance of the hospital leadership team, you will be assigned projects to complete either individually or with other stake holders in the hospital. Upon completion of the projects, leadership will discuss your performance and the outcome for the hospital. During this phase, you will be evaluated on your skills in critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, collaboration, as well as other skills appropriate to the project.
Community and Industry Participation
In order to live our mission of “Making Communities Healthier”, hospital leaders must be involved in community and industry organizations. You will be expected to attend one industry conference and one to two hospital association meetings. LifePoint will also support your involvement in a local community organization, such as Kiwanis or Rotary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or equivalent degree (or enrolled in final year of program).
