As an RN in our ICU, you will provide patient care assuming principal responsibility for the total care of assigned clients in the unit. You will assess, reassess, establish diagnoses, formulate the written care plan, implement care, and evaluate the care. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to health care training and education to the client and their family as required. The ICU RN demonstrates awareness of the ongoing needs of the unit and provides leadership and direction to other team members in maintaining optimal standards of nursing care.
This position is accountable for supervising other nursing personnel for assigned units and requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuity of care for our patients. To provide appropriate staffing levels, the RN is required to accept call status during times of low census and be available to respond when contacted. The registered nurse is responsible for providing care to all of the patient population, considering age-specificity and diagnosis.
Current RN licensure or application for licensure (with temporary permit) in the State of Texas.
BCLS and ACLS certification required within the first 6 months of hire.
