What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Donor Service position at LifeShare Blood Center?
LifeShare is seeking an enthusiastic Donor Service Manager to plan, organize and supervise our daily blood and blood component collection activities in the region. The Manager will directly supervise our team of phlebotomists for achievement of draw goals, adherence to quality standards and exceptional customer service at local blood drives. By ensuring effective collections and creating a positive donor experience, the Manager will help cultivate a pool of return donors and ensure a safe blood supply is available to our community during times of need.
Reporting to the Regional Director, the Manager will ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling to meet operational goals; provide training and oversight for the donor collections team; monitor and assess performance related to established key performance indicators; participate in quality control/assurance activities; and promote a “safety first” approach to work. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, experienced in staff management, and has a passion for service to our community. Beginning base salary is $52,000 to 62,000 commensurate with experience. LifeShare offers a generous benefits package, including employer-paid medical, life and disability insurance; employer base retirement and matching contributions to the retirement plan, and paid time off.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree in related field, plus at least three (3) years of relevant work experience, preferably in blood banking; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties of the job.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience and both technical and administrative skills required.
- MT, RN, or LPN preferred.
- Must possess a Real ID compliant form of identification for access to DoD installations and federal facilities for mobile blood drives.
- Requires travel within the community; must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by our commercial auto insurance carrier; within 6 months of hire, must obtain a Class D or E license (assistance provided).
- Ability to become familiar with and apply understanding of CLIA, FDA, OSHA and AABB regulations and statutes, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) guidelines for laboratory operations.
- Ability to maintain composure and work effectively under stressful situations.
- Must be self-motivated, dependable, punctual, and have demonstrated effective organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to learn and utilize blood banking computer applications.
- Must satisfactorily complete a company approved adult CPR/First Aid course within the first 6 months of employment or possess current CPR certification; must maintain the certification.
