`Position Buyer

Reports To Finance & Administration Manager

Department Purchasing

FLSA STATUS Non-Exempt

Primary Position Objectives Perform intermediate professional work procuring a variety of services, supplies, materials and equipment in accordance with company, customer and legal requirements. The Purchasing Agent will proactively consider price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support when choosing suppliers and merchandise to support the business and meet contract obligations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Maintains current knowledge of and ensures all procurement actions are completed in accordance with the Acquisition Policy & Procurement Manual.
  • Procures for parts, supplies and services including those with unique aspects or critical characteristics using the most effective method.
  • Conducts market research, identifies potential vendors, and creates solicitation packages.
  • Evaluates offers, comparative price analyses for reasonableness and recommends awards.
  • Assembles, reviews, and maintains administrative files related to procurements.
  • Evaluates incoming requests for completeness including due dates, accounting codes, item descriptions, quantities, etc.
  • Maintains logs, as required, and needed, to timely and accurately track procurements from receipt to closure.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers to include resolving issues expeditiously, providing updates and resolving concerns.
  • Maintains records of performance and charts of assigned key performance indicators.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Very high standard of communication skills both written and oral for the presentation of facts and ideas.
  • Written communication must be clear, concise, easy to read and comprehend.

  • Implements the key principles of time management, task allocation and priority assignment in addition to personal organization.
  • Continually seek ways to improve the service provided via development of professional skills and personal growth.
  • Initiates and responds to suggestions for improving service.

Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills .Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.

Experience At least two (2) years of experience procuring materials and services in a maintenance and/or construction environment.

Education High school graduate or equivalent GED.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
