CONTROLLER – PENNYROYAL REGION

REPORTING/COORDINATING RELATIONSHIP: Chief Financial Officer

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Yes

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the maintenance and oversight of the General Ledger portion of the Pennyroyal Center's accounting system.  Specific job duties include:

(1) Preparation of monthly financial statements and oversee monthly close.

(2) Preparation of monthly management and board reports.

(3) Preparation of local clinic financial reports.

(4) Preparation of program budget/profitability reports.

(5) Conduct cash flow analysis and prepare reports for the CEO and CFO on a regular basis.

(6) In concert with the Chief Financial Officer, perform monthly reconciliation of all bank statements.

(7) In concert with Accounts Receivable manager, ensure that A/R subsidiary ledgers are reconciled to the General Ledger.

(8) In concert with Accounts Payable staff, ensure that A/P subsidiary ledgers are reconciled to the General Ledger.

(9) Evaluate other General Accounts on a cyclical basis.

(10) Develop and maintain backup for all balance sheet accounts.

(11) Ensure that cash disbursements are justified and properly documented.

(12) Ensure the proper allocation to funding sources of receipts and expenses.

(13) Document monthly and year-end adjusting entries.

(14) Conduct periodic audit of petty cash accounts.

(15) Prepare all materials for the annual independent audit and assist auditors in conducting audit for financial statement audit and cost report audit.

(16) Prepare and submit of IRS Form 1099 annually.

(17) Oversee and provide direct supervision of the daily operations of the finance department consisting of Accounts Payable and Cash Management.

(18) Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or the Chief Financial Officer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in accounting required.  Two to four years of accounting experience desired.  Background in non-profit accounting a plus.  Must pass a Criminal Record Check.
