LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is currently seeking an individual to join our team as a
Quality Assurance Specialist in
Gainesville, FL. This position is responsible for assisting in the execution of a system-wide compliance program to ensure the consistent manufacturing of quality blood and blood products.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Track errors, accidents and complaints
- Quarantine units, recall units and assess co-components which are pending an investigation
- Assist in preparation of departmental reports for trending and tracking
- Assist in the execution of the Supplier Qualification Program including, tracking complaints and/or defects in critical supplies
- Assist in preparation and coordination of external inspections
- Initialize lab audits
- Process various forms
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
- Basic computer skills and competence with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to follow complex written and oral instructions
- Ability to organize and manage time effectively
- Ability to do basic math, including addition, subtraction, proportions, percentages, and preparation and interpretation of graphs
- Ability to interact professionally with all customers, both external and internal
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Associate’s degree
- Previous blood banking experience
