What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Financial Analyst position at Lifespan?
Summary: Under general supervision of the System Budget Manager and within Lifespan policies and procedures provides financial support to all institutions within the system. The ideal candidate will possess strong teamwork communication and analytical skills along with demonstrated experience in financial and report writing software. In conjunction with the System Budget Manager develops processes to manage budget and capital flow.
Responsibilities: Consistently applies the corporate values of respect honesty and fairness and the constant pursuit of excellence in improving the health status of the people of the region through the provision of customer-friendly geographically accessible and high-value services within the environment of a comprehensive integrated academic health system. Is responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with the principles of the Lifespan Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct. Maintains and enhances professional expertise and skills through participation in appropriate educational and training seminars related to financial reporting. Assists the VP of FPA and the System Budget Manager in developing and communicating targets timeline and overall process for the capital budget. Reviews and approves all PO and Facilities Work Order Requests for budget funding. Creates monthly and quarterly reports to track the progress of the capital budget. Provides analytical insight into these reports and communicates results to Finance Site VP�s. Assists in the development of an effective process to align and coordinate the system wide capital process. Develop tools to assess the status/progress of the capital goals/initiatives. Assists in the project management of the capital status update meetings � Quarterly Major Projects Review. Responsible for consolidated reporting out of the capital database/system and developing monitoring processes. This includes but is not limited to committed encumbered and cash spent on each capital project. Assists in the development of a �look back� report for the success of the initiatives. Support the data collection/tracking from all facilities to populate the annual capital budget. Assists in the analysis and critical review of the capital process. Assist in the development of the capital timeline and status reporting. Coordinate the support for the capital allocations. Design implement and manage the system for follow up to capital and/or business plans. Strong organizational skills ability to prioritize manage deadlines redirect and refocus as needed. Assists as needed in various financial projects and other related duties as required.
Other information: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Minimum of 3 years' experience in capital accounting or finance. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a complex automated multi corporation environment focusing on financial systems and services. Health care experience preferred. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are required. Thorough working knowledge and experience with web-based reporting report distribution and data mining tools. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in a typical office environment requiring extended periods of sitting. Hybrid work environment (remote and in office).
