Located in Central Florida, LifeStream primarily serves the residents of Lake, Citrus and Sumter Counties, with additional programs located in Orange, Marion, Hernando counties.

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the psychiatrist, the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) is responsible for the psychiatric evaluation, treatment, emergency intervention and psychopharmacological treatment of consumers of the assigned Treatment Team. The ARNP works closely with the Leadership Team of the assigned work location.
A successful ARNP is knowledgeable, empathetic, respectful, and treats consumers with dignity. Must be able to work cooperatively with a variety of disciplines, demonstrates leadership and is able to encourage and influence others in a positive, proactive manner. Must be flexible, patient and remain calm in crisis situations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivers psychiatric healthcare services to individuals in the assigned Treatment Team to determine the most appropriate services and level of care required.
- Performs and/or assists in treatment/procedures as ordered by the psychiatrist.
- Accurately assesses client's needs and prioritizes care.
- Develops effective consumer care and treatment plans.
- Documents service provision in an accurate and timely manner.
- Functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team that develops and implements treatment plans and goals for all consumers.
- Prescribes and monitors medications under the supervision of the Medical Director or covering physician.
- Provides tentative diagnosis for acute and chronic psychiatric disorders listed in the DSM-5.
- Interacts with consumers to establish a therapeutic relationship and facilitates achievement of treatment plan goals in accordance with the medical directives contained therein.

KNOWLEDGE and JOB SKILLS: Clinical skills in psychiatric and basic medical/surgical nursing and are fundamental to this position. Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team is vital to satisfactory job performance. Demonstrates skills that ensure safe and effective client care. Demonstrates a cooperative attitude to problem solving and conflict resolution with all levels of staff and in all interactions with families and outside professionals. Actively collaborates with other Center service programs in implementation of the diversionary efforts to reduce admission to crisis stabilization units. Legible handwriting and good documentation skills are essential. Good verbal and written communications skills are fundamental to satisfactory job performance.
Knowledge of comprehensive or holistic approach to client care is helpful. Must have a functional knowledge of the Baker and Marchman Acts. Excellent crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills are key to this position. Keeps supervisor advised of any problems, concerns or dissatisfactions related to the delivery of services.
Initiative, accuracy and dependability are important. Must be assertive and have a tenacious work ethic. Must be honest, dependable, well organized detail oriented, and self-directed. Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
EDUCATION:
Master’s Degree required
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Certification required
PMHNP Certification preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience serving those with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT: Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually. Other training and/or professional trainings/ certifications. Level II Background Clearance
