What are the responsibilities and job description for the ART Specialist position at Lifeways, Inc.?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
- Provide initial and periodic alcohol & drug screen on parent clients referred by ODHS Child Welfare caseworkers.
- Provide consultation to ODHS Child Welfare child protective services (CPS) workers involved in conducting child safety assessments in all matters related to alcohol and drug misuse/addiction.
- accompany CPS workers on initial contact appointments with parents whenever possible.
- Provide consultation in all matters related to alcohol and drug misuse/addiction, treatment, referral, and client support in all cases referred to ODHS that include a drug exposed infant at birth.
- accompany ODHS CPS workers to hospital staffing’s whenever possible.
- Be familiar with and act as liaison between local alcohol and drug treatment providers, community support systems, local 12 step programs and ODHS/Malheur County Prevention Services.
- Provide consultation to ODHS caseworkers and supervisors regarding all requests for urinalysis testing of clients made by ODHS Child Welfare workers.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary planning with families referred to ODHS.
- Ability to attend safety planning meetings, family decision meetings, court review hearings and treatment, ODHS, MCP, and Lifeways staffing meetings.
- As needed, complete required reports and deliver to the ODHS ART coordinator, MCP Clinical Supervisor, and ODHS caseworker.
- Maintain contact with the ODHS ART Team, assigned caseworker, and Lifeways’ Clinical Supervisor through meetings, phone, and emails to inform them of client activity and contact.

- Bachelor's degree in behavioral health sciences
- Or Alcohol & Drug Counselor certification with three (3) years of relevant work, training, or experience working specifically with adults (and their families) who have substance misuse/addiction disorders.
- Valid driver’s license
- Successful completion of background check
- Proof of Covid vaccine or approved Medical or Religious exception.
