The Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining an accurate and efficient staffing schedule unique to LIFEwest Ambulance with the goal of maximizing patient transports, daily.

Scheduler Responsibilities:

• Takes initiative and drives the schedule to maximize daily transports
• Manages and monitors scheduling communications
• Responsible for the timely, effective management of a detailed logistics system
• Cultivate strong relationships with EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses
• Communicate via phone, text, email with staff
• Administers a large volume of outbound calls, daily, to ensure staffing is filled
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure accurate scheduling
• Effectively communicate with the Administrator on Call (AOC) of previous shift updates
• Resolve scheduling conflicts as they occur
• Communicates and coordinates with staff of any immediate scheduling changes
• Completes staff timecard checks and verifies any discrepancies, daily
• Ensure accurate data entry into the scheduling system
• Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily schedules in the scheduling system
• Prepare staffing for large special events with Sonoma Raceway
• Identifies trends and communicates ideas to promote quality assurance and improvement
• Performs other duties as assigned by management

• Ability to plan, prioritize, problem solve and adapt to changes
• Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
• Strong phone presence
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels

• Commitment to continuous learning including strong understanding of ambulance schedule changes
• Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• General knowledge of the EMS industry preferred
