Addiction Counselor Job Description
The Addiction Counselor is responsible for providing Substance Abuse Treatment to our clients. In this position, the Addiction Counselor will meet with each client and develop a treatment plan. The addictions Counselor will hold individual and group sessions with clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with clients and develop a treatment plan
- Responsible for conducting groups and individual counseling sessions as scheduled. Record group notes and therapy notes in ICANotes
- Hold Weekly team meeting with executive staff and multidisciplinary teams
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or behavior-related degree.
- Must be an ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, or licensed counselor by the state of Maryland.
- Must have experiencing addictions
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be a critical thinker
- Basic knowledge of computer use
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Education:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
- Addiction counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
