MAINTENACE TECHNICIAN
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours)
Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician will work in the Central Illinois area primarily under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager and Director Facilities supporting specific Lighthouse centers in that area. Assists with maintenance in the local area and walkthroughs to ensure building quality. This is a remote position. Oversight of the facilities while maintaining high standards and communication, coordinating with internal staff and vendors, in addition to daily maintenance tasks. Daily travel and some overnight travel will be required to different locations including Champaign, Decatur, Springfield, Moline, and Davenport (Iowa) areas. All travel expenses are paid by the company.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- General maintenance work
- HVAC, plumbing, and electrical knowledge highly desirable
- Team player who can make decisions and learn quickly.
- Experience in a team setting where collaboration is key.
- Experience with MS Office (Outlook & Word)

- Exhibits a high level of attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, self-starter willing to deliver results and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and decision making/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate with staff unfamiliar with maintenance practices.
Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage current center maintenance requests to ensure tickets are being completed in a timely manner.
- Must have the ability to fix a wide variety of maintenance tasks including, drywall & framing work, replacement of cabinets, drop ceiling, carpet replacement, among many other maintenance skills.
- Attention to detail is key when completing tasks
- Take ownership of center aesthetic, pulling in the Maintenance Manager and Facilities Director as needed to ensure building is up to standards.
- Learn the functions of Lighthouse Autism Centers buildings to best serve its staff.
- Able to keep several projects organized for on time delivery.
- Investigate concerns and coordinate all repairs with internal staff or outside vendors.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance.
- Be available for travel to centers for maintenance as needed (standard mileage is reimbursable when using own vehicle)
o A company-owned maintenance vehicle will be provided, however, must have a reliable vehicle as well if needed
o Must provide own basic tools to begin
o Must have reliable cell phone and cell coverage

Note: Successful candidates will undergo a background, drug test at the time of hire. In addition, candidate must have clean driving record with a current valid driver’s license.
Pay: hourly up to $23/hr
