JOB PURPOSEResponsible for safeguarding the financial resources of the organization, the Finance Team manages the financial activities of Lili’uokalani Trust (“Trust”). Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, the Accountant will assist in maintaining the financial records of the Trust and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded.  Ensures the accuracy of entries to general ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary records to the general ledger.  ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership:Serve a subject matter expert for functional area under management; create and deliver trainings on relevant accounting-related topics to staffCollaborate with intra and inter department team members, providing and exchanging information regarding existing and/or business processes and projects, and communicating possible implications for the teams.Set the bar for customer service excellence by providing timely, thorough and friendly responses to internal and external stakeholder inquiriesRepresent the accounting team on cross-functional organizational projects as needed. Completes reports as directed by the CFO, Director of Finance, and Controller Accounting Operations:Prepares monthly general ledger entries in support of the Trust’s operations.  Is able to apply working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles to record both recurring and non-recurring transactions.Administers the corporate credit card program, including the addition/deletion of users, changes to users, monitoring of credit limits, maintains the credit card policies, and trains users, in a manner that is timely (within 1-2 business days--except for user training which will be annually unless otherwise mutually agreed upon with supervisor).Processes all exports/imports between Concur and Sage.  Ensures that the data transfer is timely per the deadlines that have been mutually established in Monthly checklist and complete (no rejected transactions).  Reviews assigned Concur reimbursement reports for proper documentation, account classification and compliance with laws/regulations and the Trust's financial policies.  Follows-up on Concur reports to ensure timely submission and processes Concur import/export information according to deadlines established in the Concur workflow document.Maintains accuracy of the Property Management (PM) data in Sage 300 (ensures that all lease agreement data is updated no less than monthly-- prior to each rent roll) and processes all PM transactions in a timely manner (per the deadlines that have been mutually established in Monthly Checklist). Responsible for the bi-annual real property tax preparation and filings, including but not limited to, review property tax assessments to determine reasonableness, liase with ‘Aina Team to determine exemption eligibility, and collaborate directly with the CountyPerforms other general accounting duties (1099 reporting, ACH batch entries etc.) as assigned by management and according to mutually agreed upon deadlines Compliance & ReportingAssists with the preparation and timely delivery of financial and regulatory reports, audit/tax schedules and tax returns.  Ensures that mutually established reporting/filing deadlines are met.  Also ensures that quality control checks are established to reconcile the accuracy of the reporting data to the general ledgerAssist management with the update and training for financial policies that are applicable to the purchasing and disbursement functions.
