One of the biggest unsolved challenges in e-commerce is how to replicate the in-store experience of being able to communicate the fit and feel of each product, and understand each customer's emotional context as they shop. As a Backend engineer working on the Lily AI Intelligence Platform, you will have the opportunity to build the core foundation that enables brands and retailers to understand the cognitive attributes of customers online and the 'why' behind 'what they do' in the customer journey.
What we are looking for:
- Recruit, oversee, and develop a high performing engineering team
- Architect & provide technical leadership on development of large web-scale systems
- Track, Optimize and report the progress on Product Engineering roadmap
- Champion a culture of measurement, accountability, and quality and setup processes to rapidly test ideas
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Science, and Product teams to shape the vision and roadmap
- Advise the engineering team on the selection of open source/third-party tools and platforms to increase our development efficiency and improve our technology and product platforms
- Manage remote teams
- Able to thrive in ambiguity & ready to take on a lot of ownership and you’ll do whatever it takes to win.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years software engineering experience in backend or full stack development, including experience with Java, Ruby on Rails, Python, Big Data/NoSQL/Stream processing technologies (e.g Spark,Flink, Redis, Kafka), AWS, Docker, CI.
- 2+ years engineering management experience, ideally in a rapid-growth start-up environment.
- Proven, demonstrable success in delivering product in a fast moving agile/scrum development environment
- BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
