CMM Technician

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled CMM Technician to ensure CMMs in all facilities have accurate programs, are on a maintenance pm schedule, conduct initial ISIR on new parts, and assist with capability studies. Experience with Calypso and CNC machines is highly desirable. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and is dotted lined to the Quality engineers.

_ Duties/Responsibilities: _

· Familiarity with launch requirement capability statistics.

· CMM program development.

· Develop & write CMM programs, and where required, train others in the program operations.

· Conduct layouts as needed and all new I.S.I.R.’s.

· Strong assistance in departmental training.

· Perform capabilities studies, gauge repeatability and reproducibility along with providing statistical reports reflecting process control, process capability and gauge repeatability.

· Utilize GD & T.

· Schedule and manage re-calibrations along with day-to-day support.

· Strong understanding of balloon prints for PPAP submissions and I.S.I.R.’s.

· Responsible for measuring parts and reporting any findings to DOQ in support of all validation activities.

· Develop CMM work instructions.

· Conduct CMM training classes for technicians.

· Proficiency in reading blueprints.

· Able to set up data box in metrology.

· Ability to work with a cross-functional team, including engineers and technicians.

· Travel to multiple plants may be required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Must be self-directed; able to work independently.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Proficient knowledge of Zeiss and Mitutoyo CMM.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

· Ability to communicate to all levels of internal / supplier / customer organization.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· 3-5 years of CMM programming (Zeiss and Mitutoyo).

· Calypso and Geo measure.

· GD&T requirements.

· Gauge and process design.

Work Environment:

· The job works in conditions with constant exposure to noise, odors, dust, drafts, and chemicals.

Physical Requirements:

· Able to sit, stand and walk around for prolonged periods at a time.

· Carrying, pushing, or pulling may be required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Primarily day shift, however the position oversees all three shifts and might be required to work as needed to ensure customer demand is met.

Travel: Travel between locations as well as occasional travel to and from supplier or customer locations may be required. Overtime and weekends are not regularly scheduled but may be required.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
