Summary
Responsible for ensuring quality and integrity of processes/parts prior to shipment.
Essential functions
- Hot Inspection
- Assist with gage R&R testing
- Gage verifications
- Monitor SPC process
- Participation on quality and cross-functional teams when required
- Proactively learn new quality concepts, techniques and keep abreast of latest information
- Provide assistance, where required, in the daily manufacturing of forgings
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.
- Comply with all safety procedures and regulations

Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
- Forging background preferred
Physical demands
The Hot Inspector is required to stand all day. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently required to bend at the waist, walk, use hand to feel or handle objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include meeting the Snellen 14/18 or better in one (1) eye, not corrected or corrected with glasses, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Work Environment
This position regularly encounters exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold), exposure to chemical odors and extreme noise reaching up to 120 decibels.
