Essential Job Functions

· Supervise Housing Specialists. Perform all duties of an immediate supervisor to include assigning schedules and caseloads, arrange coverage, staff development, train and mentor staff, monitor and address performance, conduct performance evaluations, and guide and motivate staff.

· Provide consistent guidance on policies and regulations and disseminate information to staff to ensure fair and unbiased service to all and successful lease-up and voucher utilization.

· Using the knowledge and understanding of the Fair Housing Act, Landlord/Tenant Act and Housing Assistance programs, address complaints received from tenants and landlords.

· Perform quality control audits on program files. Monitor program compliance with HUD, LHA and Fair Housing rules and regulations. Provide training and technical assistance as needed to address identified issues.

· Interpret governmental housing directives and prepare reports.

· Work at a fast pace and take initiative to identify problems and inefficiencies as well as formulate solutions, seeking input and buy-in from staff and coordinate with the Tenant Based Housing Manager to improve the success of the Housing Specialists in carrying out their work.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in a related field. Equivalent years of work experience in a supervising capacity and/or performing Housing Choice Voucher housing specialist duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of degree.

· Experience managing staff, monitoring performance, and creating a successful team environment.

· Experience using sound judgement working independently and in a team environment.

· Knowledge of Fair Housing Act and Tenant/Landlord Act are preferred along with experience in subsidized housing program and waiting list management.

· Ability to effectively communicate and work within a culturally diverse work environment including obtaining and utilizing interpreters.

· The starting pay for this position is $56,400.00/yr.
