Copy Of 2nd Shift - Shipping Forklift Operator

JOB SUMMARY: 
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift used to load trucks, supply packaging materials, and transport product to and from the shipping areas. 
 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Load and unload trucks used for shipping product. 

  1. Stage product and inspect shipping tags and documents to ensure accuracy. 

  1. Perform general cleaning of loading dock areas. 

  1. Assist in training co-workers as requested. 

  1. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. 

  1. Attend meetings and trainings as required. 

  1. Other duties as assigned.  
     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  1. Knowledge of food safety programs, including HACCP , SSOPs and GMPs. 

  1. Knowledge of Company safety policies and procedures. 

  1. Skill in promoting a positive work environment. 

  1. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing. 

  1. Ability to work in a team environment. 

  1. Ability to be a good representative of the Company. 

  1. Ability to obtain a forklift operator’s license. 

  1. Ability to work in cold temperatures. 

  1. Ability to multitask and work quickly. 

  1. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. 

  1. Ability to work overtime or weekends. 
     

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of one-year experience operating a forklift.  Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
