What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher Assistant: Lincoln Middle School position at Lincoln School District?
Lincoln Public School District is accepting applications from qualified candidates for a temporary Substitute Teacher Assistant at Lincoln Middle School (ASAP - 5/12/2023).Function: Provide those supportive services necessary for assisting the classroom teacher in his/her task of providing quality instruction to students. Reports to: Teachers(s), Principal to whom he/she is assigned and Director of Student ServicesResponsibilities: Perform those tasks assigned by the classroom teacher or the building Principal. Work with small groups of students, and/or individual student as assigned reinforcing teacher planned and directed activities. Perform those aide services necessary to help the teacher in his/her instructional lessons.
Examples of aide services include, but may not be limited to: physically assisting a student on/off of the toilet and or with personal hygiene; transfer student into and out of wheelchair, electric wheelchair, stroller or any other transfer as needed; set-up and monitor student(s) while eating breakfast and or lunch; assist student as needed during adaptive physical education class. Perform related duties as assigned. Requirements and Experience: 1.) Must possess Teacher Assistant Certification AND one of the following 3 requirements: a.) Passing score on ParaPro assessment or b.) Evidence of Associate's Degree or higher or c.) Completion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education.2.) Experience with CPI/Safety Care Training/other accredited program3.) Experience working in a team-based environment4.) Experience working with students requiring assistance with self-regulation, augmentative communication supports, and visual aids.5.) Experience working with students requiring assistance with self-help skills (including toileting and feeding) and daily living skills.6.) Experience working with assistive technology to regulate arousal (suspended equipment, trampoline, weighted vest, fidgets, therapy ball, seat cushion and vibrating toys)7.) Experience supporting communication and social interactions with peers and adults
