Math Department Faculty Division(s):Upper School Employment type:Full-Time Position type:Permanent (10-month) Start date:August 2024 Lincoln School, founded in 1884, is an independent K-12 Quaker girls’ school in Providence, Rhode Island. We also offer a coed program from six weeks through Pre-kindergarten. We are seeking applicants for a full-time Math Department faculty member for the 2024-25 school year. The position entails teaching statistics as well as Upper School math courses in the algebraic sequence. The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of teaching experience, a student-centered teaching approach, and the confidence and skills to meet the needs of a variety of learners. A commitment to a girls’ school environment and the desire to inspire and engage young women in mathematics are essential. The successful candidate will be an active member of the Math Department team, bringing a strong commitment to Lincoln's evolving STEAM program, and be flexible in response to student and school needs. Teachers at Lincoln maintain a reflective teaching practice that involves collaboration and critical dialogue with colleagues and division leadership. Candidates should have experience with student-centered teaching, together with confidence and experience teaching Math at the high school level. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include serving as an advisor, attending all required meetings and engage in the Lincoln school community, upholding Lincoln’s Quaker values, and supporting students outside the classroom.
