Purpose:
Assistant Professor of English
Essential Job Functions:
- Excellent organizational and management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders as well as excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Training in composition pedagogy. Demonstrated commitment to promoting equitable literacy practices and creating inclusive, accessible learning environments for diverse populations.
Qualifications:
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- A record of scholarship and publication or evidence of a productive research agenda.
- Previous experience with or preparation for teaching courses in professional writing and rhetoric and composition.
- Ph.D. in English or a related field by start date of appointment.
- Evidence of experience working with underprepared and diverse student population.
- Established record of publication as well as experience and excellence in teaching a variety of courses in specialty.
Physical Demands:
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing/walking.
