Position Summary
The Research Technician II will support the research of highly interdisciplinary hydrology and watershed management projects.
This is a 12-month, project-supported position with responsibilities of fieldwork, laboratory work, office work and outreach/extension activities. The appointment is renewable depending on funding availability and job performance.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Provide support to graduate students and help to supervise student workers.
- Develop student-friendly standard operation procedures, data informatics, and training modules to streamline hands-on student research activities.
- Perform environmental monitoring, hydrologic modeling, water quality data analysis, WBP writing, and outreach efforts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated data acquisition systems and scientific instrumentation.
- Water quality analysis experience is desired.
- Skills with GIS and hydrologic modeling
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma with Associate's Degree preferred
- Experience with data management and analysis using computer software, with proficiency in a programming language is highly desirable.
- Valid MO driver's license is required.
