Overview:

Congregation B’nai Amoona is a conservative synagogue in West County. B'nai Amoona aims to enhance and enrich what already exists by creating a vibrant and progressive Jewish atmosphere focusing on prayer, spirituality, learning, inspiration, inclusion, celebration, warmth, friendliness, comfort, Israel, support, and relevance. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as the Director for our preschool, the Linda Rotskoff ECC (LRECC). The Director will oversee all aspects of our Reggio based program, ensuring a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment for all young learners. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for early childhood education, and a commitment to fostering the holistic development of children.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Development and Implementation:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preschool curriculum that aligns with educational standards and promotes the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children.
  • Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and creativity.
  • Regularly review and update curriculum materials and teaching methodologies to reflect best practices in early childhood education.
  • Staff Management and Development:
  • Recruit, hire, and train qualified teachers and support staff.
  • Provide ongoing support, supervision, and professional development opportunities for staff members.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work culture that values teamwork, creativity, and professional growth.

Parent and Community Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress, upcoming events, and program updates.
  • Organize parent workshops, events, and volunteer opportunities to foster strong partnerships between the school and families.
  • Represent the preschool in the local community, building relationships with community organizations, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Administrative Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the preschool, including budget management, enrollment, scheduling, and facility maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and other legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Knowledge of child development theories, early childhood education principles, and best practices, with knowledge of Reggio philosophy preferred (or similar philosophy).
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, staff, and community members.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
