Description/Job Summary
Lindahl Reed is seeking energy professionals to provide Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) services. The REM will support the development and implementation of a robust energy management program through accomplishing actions/projects to achieve the energy laws, regulations, policies, goals, and directives. The REM will develop and assist with the implementation of actions/projects in support of facility maintenance, repair, and construction activities, including: providing design review comments; project management support; identification of energy savings projects, construction coordination and oversight; and other support activities to ensure that energy efficiency measures and water conservation measures are incorporated into all actions. The REM support services include assistance with Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) projects, Utility Energy Services Contract (UESC) projects, Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program (ERCIP) projects, Facilities Repair and Renovations (FRR) projects, and other energy projects. In addition, REM support services include the promotion, education, and adoption of energy and water resources conservation and management activity assistance necessary to optimize the use of utility resources, including but not limited to natural gas, coal, electricity, solar, geothermal, water, wastewater and other energy/utilities. Additionally, REMs will provide assistance with energy and water plans such as the Installation Energy and Water Plans. The REMs will also support energy and water security and resiliency and other initiatives while working to achieve Energy and Water savings. Specific areas of support include:
- Support energy planning, including development of installation Energy and Water Plans
- Conduct energy audits
- Identify and implement energy conservation measures
- Develop energy efficiency improvements for facilities
- Analyze energy, water, and other utility data
- Provide energy training and support awareness initiatives
- Conduct design reviews
- Recommend improvements to energy and utility procurement operations and maintenance
- Support construction of energy projects through Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) projects, Utility Energy Services Contract (UESC) projects, Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program (ERCIP) projects, and other energy funded- projects
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- 9 years of energy management experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, current Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or other relevant certifications is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of utility information systems, metering, mechanical and lighting systems, and federal energy requirements and programs.
- Experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, and building/facility operations.
- Experience supporting the development and implementation of energy projects using alternative financing mechanisms.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense and Federal energy management requirements
- Understanding of project programming, funding, and implementation at Department of Defense installations.
- Excellent oral/written communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills coupled with strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter, driven and able to work with limited direction under target timelines
- Collaborative personality enjoys and able to work effectively, independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Translates complex ideas into processes and tactical plans.
- Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- US Citizenship is required.
- Ability to pass a government-administered background investigation in order to be granted a Common Access Card and access to government IT systems.
