Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Cylinder Maintenance Technician to join our team located in Amarillo, TX. The Cylinder Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing duties associated with repairing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining high pressure cylinders, low pressure cylinders (including propane), and liquid cans. Additional duties include completing PM assignments, inventory control and housekeeping.
Responsibilities
- Sort cylinders in preparation for retest/repair by size and CGA
- Prep cylinders for blast/test/paint (blow down, scrape)
- Shot blast and paint cylinders
- Clean and buff liquid containers
- Valve and de-valve cylinders
- Load and operate bake out oven
- Inspect cylinders for proper markings (DOT pressure rating, test date, overfill, 10-year test, ownership)
- Internal and external cylinder inspections
- Operational testing and repair of cryogenic liquid containers
- Carry out all PM (preventative maintenance) duties assigned
- Perform repairs on equipment as needed
- Repair and assemble/disassemble cylinder banks
- Maintain paint and repair supplies inventory
- Process customer owned cylinders (COC)
- Process and maintain all orders, paperwork and record keeping in accordance with SOP’s
- Perform all assignments in accordance with POIS and DOT regulations
- Keep work area clean and orderly
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Education: High School Diploma/ GED
- Mechanical aptitude or experience in maintenance/mechanical role preferred
- Able to work flexible hours, outdoors/indoors and overtime as required
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and roll cylinders more than 200 pounds
- Must be capable of operating forklift
- Able to work independently and be self-motivated
