Job overview

Advanced Materials Technologies is seeking a Buyer for our Concord, NH location. This position is responsible for the day-to-day procurement of all business process materials, in addition to identifying sourcing opportunities for critical equipment components and contractor services and may be required to assist at other locations.

SCOPE

This position is responsible for sourcing and procurement of all plant/departmental materials and related commodities and services with an approximate spend of < $5MM. This position will report into the Global Procurement organization.

BUYER

• As required by the businesses, solicits/analyzes quotations, negotiates purchases, selects successful suppliers/contractors, and reviews/creates/approves Purchase Order transactions through Oracle to ensure proper supply of plant/departmental materials and contractor services.

• Partners with business leaders and others in the Global Procurement organization to complete capital equipment purchases including critical equipment components and spares.

• Builds business relationships with suppliers and develops favorable supply terms.

• Works with the Advanced Materials Technologies Global Sourcing Managers and Director to develop supplier metrics, global leveraging of the supply base, and initiatives involving Oracle.

• Performs a key role in identifying new vendors and qualifying new product sourcing opportunities.

• Identifies improvement opportunities in the procurement function and actively participates in business productivity and operational excellence initiatives.
• Manages timely and accurate physical inventory cycle counts as needed.
• Collaborates with finance organization to determine appropriate PO account coding and to resolve payment issues.
• Tracks open order status and follows up on order execution.
• Maintains operational discipline and is compliant with Advanced Materials Technologies procurement and other policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Three or more years of experience in Purchasing, Customer Service and/or a business-related function is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word applications is required.
• Prior experience with an Oracle ERP system is preferred.

• An Associate Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is desired but not required.

• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience.
• Results driven, self-motivated, and a positive attitude.
