Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a Production Technician for our HyCO facility located in Delaware City. This position will report to the Production Superintendent.
The Production Technician will be responsible for ensuring production requirements are met and that the facility is operated in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. This is a front-line operations role that will respond to unplanned events, work independently, and make technical decisions and recommendations to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the facility.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Learn all aspects of the HyCO Production Process
- Learn and operate computer control system for the plant
- Read and interpret P&ID, equipment manuals and company procedures
- Monitor process performance and makes appropriate adjustments to remedy deviations and align to the specified norm.
- Operate units to continuously supply products at the appropriate quantities and qualities safely and economically, complying with all environmental regulations and daily customer requirements.
- Safely troubleshoot, maintain, and assist in the repair of mechanical systems including valves, piping, pumps, fans, motors, etc.
- Perform lock-out tag-out, correctly and safely permit maintenance work, and oversee contractors as necessary.
- Coordinates closely with other operators and management
- Maintains compliance with all applicable regulatory, policy, and internal engineering standards
- Collaborates with support teams for technical assistance
- Maximizes efficiency and operating capacity of the plants
- Troubleshooting plant process & equipment problems and implementing solutions
- Maintains QA program, facilitates customer and corporate audits
- Supports fill zone activities including the filling and purging trailers into service
- Is available for on-call duties per pre-determined schedule with other technicians
- Maintains documentation of equipment and process through workorders, QA, logbook etc.
- Responsible for safe startup and shutdown of all process equipment and understanding of emergency procedures
- Collect water samples and calibrate equipment used for maintaining water quality on site
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associates in Applied Sciences Degree or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.
- 2 or more years Production Operations experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Hazardous Work Permits and Lock out Tag out
- Excellent quick thinking and team interaction skills
- Self-starter who is comfortable working independently, effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision.
- Must have a positive attitude, be willing to quickly adapt to changing situations, have strong communications skills, and a strong will to build and maintain productive relationships across departmental lines.
- Strong interest in and experience with electrical and mechanical systems
- Have a working knowledge of computers and typical computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Projects)
- Proficiency with a variety of hand tools, meters, instrument calibration equipment etc.
- Working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems and motors.
- Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 lbs, and work at heights
