Job Title: Assistant Director of Career Development

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Director of Career Development to join our team at Linfield University. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically developing employer partnerships to create internship and job opportunities for undergraduate students. This role involves cultivating targeted employer relationships, coordinating programs and services to promote career success, and providing career coaching to students. The Assistant Director will play a key role in representing Career Development at Linfield University and contributing to the overall success of our students.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) with hours Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and advocacy in all interactions
  • Collaborate with on-campus and off-campus partners to develop programming aligned with Linfield University's strategic goals
  • Manage employer outreach strategic plan, including relationship development, data analysis, and alumni integration
  • Research industry trends affecting undergraduate hiring and provide relevant information to stakeholders
  • Coordinate career programs bringing employers and students together, including expos and networking events
  • Deliver comprehensive career management coaching and curriculum to students
  • Provide individual and group coaching on career development and job search strategies
  • Collaborate with University Advancement to engage alumni and parents as employer resources
  • Oversee employer and graduate employment surveys and reporting
  • Represent Linfield University at public speaking engagements on campus and in the community
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong customer engagement orientation
  • Excellent program management and leadership skills
  • Superior presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license and driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Bilingual proficiency
  • Prior experience in higher education or recruiting

Working Conditions:

  • Evening and occasional weekend work; moderate travel
  • Physical requirements include sitting, hearing, talking, occasional walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds
