Assistant Store Manager – The Lingle Corporation
Purpose:
This position functions as the person in charge when the Store Manager is not in the store. This includes, yet is not limited to days off, vacations, and extended coverage do to the absence of a Store Manager.
Acting as a lead member of the store team, the ASM will assist the SM in compliance with all Lingle Company policies and procedures. Viewed as a potential future SM candidate, the ASM assumes ownership that will allow the store to maximize sales and profits. The Assistant Store Manager will assist the Store Manager in the hiring, training, and development of all store employees. The ASM will also support the SM in directing all safety, security, and sanitation programs.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Provide leadership in the absence of a SM. Share all responsibilities for sales, profits, and advisory responsibilities with the SM. The ASM, in conjunction with the SM will plan to set and execute all work priorities a communicated by the Lingle Senior Management. As a team, they will direct the assignment of all individual tasks within the store.
The ASM should strive to meet or exceed sales, shrink, and labor budgets. Provide training, support, and positive reinforcement through daily interaction, one on one communication and total store team building engagement. The ASM will team with the SM and DM to contribute to the development and strategic direction in the stores operating environment.
Responsible for the visual presentation as described by the VP and DM. This includes store scripts, too include perishable departments and center store displays. Maintain a high standard of operation for customers which includes a safe, clean, and well stocked store. This includes managing inventory levels to specific metrics of the store to ensure quality, freshness, and in stock conditions each day. Special emphasis will be placed on all ad merchandise.
Share with the SM the responsibility for the implementation and compliance of all company policies, accounting procedures, safety, and customer service. The ASM responsibilities will include any and all other duties as assigned to promote both the company and their professional growth.
Job Requirements:
A positive attitude coupled with relevant experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Demonstrate the ability to overcome obstacles, tackle tough challenge and out in the extra effort to achieve results.
A minimum of 2 years retail management of related industry experience.
Ability to work in a multi task environment. Must be able to motivate, develop, and hold associates accountable, while creating a positive work environment for all associates.
Adheres to all Lingle Company policies and procedures. Leads others to do the same. A Lingle ASM demonstrates consistency between words and actions. Accepts ownership and responsibility for their own actions and results.
Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to reach, bend, balance, lift, and transport various objects weighing 20-50lbs. repeatedly throughout a shift. At times, product weight may reach 50-80lbs.
Must have the ability to stand, walk, and / or move about for extended periods of time.
Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, and twist for extended periods of time.
Regularly works in freezers, refrigerators, in and outside of the store in all weather conditions.
