The Manager, Energy & Utilities reports directly to the Associate Director, Head of Energy & Utilities, and is responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of all energy and utility processes. Functions include management of the Utility Operations and Energy Management teams, driving a consistently best-in-class experience for Link and its customers. This role requires a self-starter experienced in people management, determined to foster a high-functioning team in a performance-based reward system.
We're seeking a passionate and experienced Manager to lead and inspire our growing energy team. This role will be crucial in driving our commitment to energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost optimization across our real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and proven leadership skills to champion energy initiatives across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as support to the Head of Energy and Utilities Director in all matters pertaining to energy management, efficiency initiatives, and cost recovery programs.
- Develop and implement energy management strategies to reduce energy consumption, costs, and environmental impact for Link Customers.
- Responsible for position specific activities of Link’s 3rd Party Utility Bill Management Partners, utility budgets, monthly, quarterly, and annual accruals, ENERGY STAR Benchmark compliance, and energy and data inventory management.
- Acts as an Energy Subject Matter Expert (SME) with knowledge of energy procurement, energy data management, and demand side solutions.
- Coordinate with the Building Solutions team to identify, develop, and execute energy projects, programs, and initiatives to reduce capital and operating expenses, including development of and reporting against KPIs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including property managers, customers, utility companies, government agencies, and industry partners.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Communicate effectively with team members, providing regular updates, feedback, and professional development opportunities.

Nature of work requires an ability to effectively communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents and operating standard business office equipment.
Working Conditions
Work performed in a general office environment. May require extended hours during peak periods. Occasional travel is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 5 years of proven experience in energy management, preferably within the real estate industry.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
- Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of successfully delivering energy efficiency projects on time and within budget.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Knowledge of energy management software, tools, and technologies, including energy management systems, HVAC systems, and lighting systems.
- CEM, LEED AP, or other relevant industry certifications are highly desirable.
