Link Technologies (LinkTechConsulting.com), a Las Vegas-based IT consulting firm, is currently seeking a Database Administrator 2 – Cloud for a 99% remote (anywhere in the United States) contract opportunity (travel costs will be covered for required team meetings, either to Las Vegas or Carson City, NV, depending on project needs).
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma AND minimum four (4) years of experience in related area including IT supervisory experience.
- Proven experience as a DBA working with data warehouse, including data extraction, storage, and transformation/quality control.
- Strong understanding with administration of cloud-based services, specifically AWS and Azure environments, RedShift or similar database.
- Knowledgeable with cloud identity management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create environments in AWS or Azure cloud and apply identity access and protection.
- Enhance, oversee, and report on usage.
- Help with the development of all data exchanges.
- Perform and manage the administration of all business databases located in the AWS cloud and Azure; track and confirm proper usage of all licensing.
- Partner with vendors and IT staff to indicate environmental requirements.
- Verify proper and efficient business use of the company’s data stores, maximizing productivity of the end users.
- Evaluate and execute advanced administrative tasks to ensure stability of databases.
- Supervise all database related activities, guaranteeing best practices in database design/engineering, administration, development, performance, and tuning.
- Assist developers with tracking and augmenting long-running queries and procedures.
- Plan, build, and execute application and data maintenance of software systems from a database perspective.
- Oversee and execute detailed testing on developed database objects.
- Design and apply test plans and work with users to execute and complete testing, specifically regarding performance.
- Verify data integrity, manage, and conduct required migrations.
- Apply organization standards to guarantee quality.
- Signify design and code standards; partner with technical staff to validate code compliance.
- Ensure and maintain proper documentation and configuration/change management for all activities.
