What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer II position at LinQuest Corporation?
TMC, a LinQuest company is seeking a Buyer II to join our team in one of our offices - Dayton, Ohio; Las Cruces, NM; Colorado Spring, CO Huntsville, AL - potential for hybrid or remote work. Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance is required
Responsibilities:
- Understanding of the proposal process for material estimating, bill of material concepts and methodologies
- Assists in proposals by contacting vendors for quotes.
- Performs purchasing duties to include initiating necessary purchasing documents, vendor contact, obtaining quotes and completing orders based on price, delivery, quality, and service
- Communicates with supplier changes in specifications, change orders, quantities, and adjustments.
- Inputs purchase orders in CostPoint purchasing software
- May supervise the maintenance of purchase order/invoice/receiving records system.
- Creates project required forms for order approvals
- Tracks orders and provides status to ensure procurements align with deadlines and resolves any discrepancies with order delays
- Keeps current with economic, industrial, and other trends that affect markets and prices.
- Works with Finance and Accounting to complete monthly billing and assures Purchasing records are properly submitted for contract compliance
- Works along the AS9100 team to ensure the department follows and meets TMC's Design Quality Policy
- Closeout Package Documentation familiarity
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Must hold an active DoD Secret clearance.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business Management, related field or equivalent experience
- Knowledgeable of and adheres to Purchasing system and procedures
- Knowledgeable in procurement, supply chain, and material management processes.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Negotiation and follow up skills required.
- Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment and be solutions oriented.
- Must be approachable and be able to communicate with internal and external customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio is required.
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Communication Proficiency
Preferred:
- Experienced in CostPoint, Cognos, Unanet and MS Excel
- Active DoD Secret Clearance is preferred
- Working knowledge of Government Contracting and experience with FAR/DFAR/DPAS/CPSR Compliance.
- Ability to effectively interact with upper management and within a team environment.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain principles and concepts in defense contracting
- Experience with Earned Value Management software (MS Project, Cobra)
- Industry Certification -NCMA Certified Contract Management Associate (CCMA) or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)
Compensation:
- Colorado starting salary ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications
