POSITION PURPOSE:

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
List each major accountability (end result).
- Complies with EH&S guidelines.
- Coordinates special testing with Production, R&D, Environmental, and Quality (complaints).
- Develops and troubleshoots test methods and sampling procedures
- Conducts statistical analysis of QC Lab data.
- Assists in the investigation of customer complaints.
- Administers lab safety programs and training.
- Completes procedure audits.
- Approves or delegates approval of Raw Materials.
- Participates in Collaborative Testing between LION and outside labs.
- Supports ISO 9001 quality systems including internal audits and document control.
- Recommends improvements in test methods and equipment.
- Responsible for all training and the maintenance of the Training records for all Laboratory Personnel.
- Ensure that all Laboratory Technicians maintain their certifications when time to retest and certify technicians on lab equipment.
- Performs Lasso Audits.
- Ensures that all calibrations are performed and documented.
- Daily involvement with Technicians regarding procedures and the safety of the equipment.
- Write maintenance notifications, hot work permits, and fire watch authorizations when appropriate
- Coordinate and supervise outside maintenance working in the lab.
- Maintain working knowledge of LIMS/SAP to assist when required.
- Coordinate shipping of samples and receipt of samples from customers and LETC
- Determine lab coverage and coordinate schedules to ensure shift coverage
- Conduct lab test to ensure production needs are being met
- Resolve employee conflict, perform performance appraisals, discipline employees, and hire new employees
- Champion 5S housekeeping efforts

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or equivalent
Related Experience:
- Minimum of 5 year(s) experience preferred
- Supervisory experience
