JOB SUMMARY:

In this role, you will assist supply chain with the production planning, purchasing, and work in process to maintain flow of product to finished goods inventory allowing for timely shipments to customers within desired inventory levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Issue purchase orders and schedule shipments to contractors for finished goods and related items per forecast and planned order requirements.
- Update and maintain purchase order details in database system, ensuring that all pertinent information is complete and accurate. Manages transactional movements (stage).
- Communicate with order management and sales on delays and undelivered goods.
- Communicate with suppliers and contractors on priority needs and resolution on issues.
- Monitor and communicate to Director of Supply Chain all production WIP staging and delivery issues from weekly factory WIP reports.
- Process and communicates direct contractor-to-customer shipments.
- Communicate inbound shipment priorities on finished goods to quality control and DC.
- Monitor and communicate internally the status of special production orders to insure on-time delivery.
- Prepare production and purchasing reports as needed.
- Confer with finance department in addressing issues pertaining to purchase orders.
- General administrative duties supporting the site including vendor management and site safety.
- Maintains files of production department documentation and communications.
- Active involvement in special project teams.
- Support product management in the item setup, attributes into the database system.
- Serves as back up to Purchasing Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline required, or equivalent work experience in purchasing or planning.
- Experience and understanding of the Public safety consumer, the marketplace, and the competitive landscape preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- MS Word, Excel and Power Point proficiency, with good presentation abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly the ability to effectively research, develop and process quantitative and qualitative business data.
- Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure.
- Natural tendency to be curious, positive and creative.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Highly flexible and able to react constructively and with a positive attitude to multiple demands, shifting priorities, change and unexpected events.
- May be required at times to perform light lifting and carrying (30 lbs) and up to 8 hours a day on standing/walking/ driving.

Salary : $37,800 - $47,900
